BlizzCon Code of Conduct

We want everyone at BlizzCon to feel like they're part of one big Blizzard community. We ask that everyone at the show be respectful and courteous to their fellow attendees.

In order to provide a safe, enjoyable, and welcoming environment, Blizzard reserves the right to remove from BlizzCon any person whose conduct is deemed to be violent, disorderly, unbecoming, who uses vulgar or abusive language, or in any way deemed non-compliant with our BlizzCon code of conduct or other Event Policies.

If you witness or experience any activity that puts someone's safety or enjoyment of the show at risk, inform a staff member, security guard, or police officer, or any guest services personnel. We have escalation procedures in place to handle these kinds of situations, and we will take the appropriate action from there.

If you feel any concerns about your safety prior to the show, please email us at >bcreporting@blizzard.com. Heroes like you can help keep BlizzCon safe for everyone.

Zero Tolerance Practice

Please note that BlizzCon show management has a ZERO TOLERANCE PRACTICE for harassment of any kind. Harassment will not be tolerated at BlizzCon. Anyone who engages in harassing or threatening behavior will face appropriate consequences as determined by BlizzCon show management including but not limited to having their ticket revoked and issued a permanent ban to the show. Onsite security and police may be notified in accordance with all state laws and governing procedures. In addition to harassment, a zero tolerance approach applies to alcohol and drug use within the Anaheim Convention Center.

Food and Beverage Policy

To ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for all attendees at the convention center, BlizzCon is an alcohol-free event. Outside food and beverages, including glass bottles, cans, and alcoholic beverages, are strictly prohibited. Sealed water bottles are permitted.

Weapons Policy

Firearms, fireworks, flammable liquids or aerosol products, pepper spray, knives, daggers, swords, clubs, maces, other crushing or edged weapons, projectiles, air guns, long bows, crossbows or any other weapons are strictly prohibited.

Smoking Policy

BlizzCon has a strict no smoking policy including traditional cigarettes, pipes, cigars, E-cigarettes, or any vaping product or device. This policy includes all event spaces at the Anaheim Convention Center. You are welcome to step outside the Convention Center to smoke in designated smoking areas only. This policy is in place to comply with Anaheim city ordinances prohibiting smoking at public events near any doorway, entrance, exit, operable window or ventilation intake.

Attendee Age Restriction

Some content at BlizzCon is rated for mature audiences and is not suitable for children. Anyone under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult. No children under the age of 7 will be permitted to enter. No strollers will be allowed in the Anaheim Convention Center.

Costume Props Policy

Community costumes are a huge part of what makes BlizzCon so special. In order to help cosplayers and contestants get a better handle on what's allowed at the convention, we've updated and clarified the rules and procedures around costumes at BlizzCon. Please read through these guidelines in advance to minimize unexpected snags when you get to the show and help us ensure the safety of all of our guests.

No functional props or weapons are allowed at BlizzCon. Costume props are subject to security screening prior to admission and must comply with the following:

All costume props must be inspected at the Costume Props Desk. All costume props must conform to state and federal law.

The following guidelines help to dictate whether your prop or weapon could be considered functional:

  • Any firearm, even if inoperable at the time of check-in, will not be allowed.

  • Costume bows must either contain no bowstring or be strung loosely as to render them unable to fire an arrow

  • Any accompanying arrows must have no sharp edges or tip of any kind.

  • Costume blunt weapons such as hammers, staves, or wands must be made of appropriate lightweight prop-making material (including but not limited to Worbla or foam) and contain no sharp edges or other elements capable of causing harm.

  • Costume swords may not have any sharp edges or tip, and must be made of the appropriate lightweight materials mentioned above.

  • Other prop items not listed here should conform to good judgment to avoid harming or inconveniencing other attendees and are subject to review and approval by show security.

Costumes worn during show hours must not be wider than 4 feet, longer than 6 feet, or taller than 8 feet. At certain times, due to crowds and safety issues, people in large-sized costumes may be asked to leave the exhibit halls.

After your costume props have been checked, they will be tagged by security to designate that your props have been checked. A prop check must be conducted each day prior to entry; a tagged prop from a previous day will not suffice and must be checked again.

Security will escort you to the Costume Props Desk for inspection if your costume prop is not tagged properly.

If you do not want to have your costume props inspected or tagged, or if you are not willing to comply with these policies, please do not bring your costume props to BlizzCon.

  • Size and mobility of your costume should be taken into consideration, and for purposes of safety your costume should conform to the following limitations while worn:

  • Can easily fit/be maneuvered through a standard ADA compliant doorway (the size/type in your home, not an extra-high, convention center double-door)

  • Should not significantly inhibit the cosplayer's ability to navigate safely throughout the convention center
