BlizzCon 2015 Talent Contest Spotlight: Awesome City Limits

With BlizzCon next month, we wanted to take time to spotlight our Talent Contest finalists who you might see performing live during the Contests segment of the show Friday evening. Over the next couple of weeks, we’ll be giving you a glimpse into what these acts are about, what their inspirations are, and how they got their start. First up, a group we first met last year during BlizzCon 2014, Awesome City Limits.

First, tell us a bit about your group and how you developed your act.

We were jamming for fun one day, playing half-hearted covers of pop songs, when Natalie started fiddling around with some movie soundtracks. Something just clicked, and we discovered we had a mutual love for the scores behind our favorite movies, TV shows, and video games. There are so many soundtracks that just don’t get enough love, so we wanted to pay homage to them while putting our own fun rock twist on it.

Where is everyone from?

We’re all from Los Angeles, California.

Which Blizzard games is everyone currently playing?

All of us play Diablo III and Hearthstone pretty regularly, and we’ve started getting into Heroes of the Storm as well!

How have Blizzard’s games inspired your act?

One of our favorite things about Blizzard games is how epic and cinematic they are, from the amazing cutscenes to the orchestral soundtracks. As geeky gamers with a love for awesome scores, we couldn’t pass up the opportunity to play such great music!

How can your fans find you?
